Did you get your hair cut?
Is a collaborative book featuring period hair from the Egyptian Ages to 1960’s, men, woman, beards and mustaches. For this book it was important for the designers (myself and Alexa Thoen) to have a voice, while including true historical information. Each of the pages have hand inked frames and illustrations, for each illustration there is a name of the person, hairstyle name, and a short silly bio. On the page is a brief history of hair during that time period, author’s comments, and a rating system for each hairstyle from “capital” to “loathsome”.
Throughout the book there are over 70 inked illustrations and hand type, 4 pull-out posters which showcase mens hair, womens hair, utensils, and wigs. The book is bound and wrapped with a textural hair belly band.
